After going through two devastating losses, a miscarriage in 2019, and then the loss of our baby boy in 2020 I unfortunately know all to well how special it is to receive meaningful gifts in the depths of your heartache. Through our journey of loss I have connected with several brands that I have fallen in love with and wanted to share with you. So many of you have reached out asking what you could do or get others that have lost a baby so I thought what better way than to do a round up through a blog post.
#1: LJG Candles – The owner of LJG candles lost her son in 2014 and began creating the most unique gifts for those grieving losses. They sent over beautiful leather “Mom & Dad of an Angel” bracelets for Orlando and I. The quality is outstanding and the style suites us both so well. I love the simplicity yet sophisticated look. They go with any type of outfit and have such a special message across the stainless steel charm. LJG offers a ton of different options from keychains, candles, ornaments, and more. Whether you or someone you know if grieving a loss of any kind I am sure you can find something special and close to the heart, here. Sign up for their email list here & receive 10% off.

#2: The Rad Rose – I hate that I found these incredible business owners through our losses but I am incredibly glad I did. Brittany the owner of The Rad Rose is such a sweet soul and her online boutique of personal items is incredible. Her style aligns so perfectly with my own and she sent over this cozy “mama” crew neck that I totally adore. I am also obsessed with her “badass mama” designs because as I was telling her, it’s so important to recognize those that have experienced miscarriage/infant loss as part of the mom club still. Our babies may be angels but we are still BADASS MAMAS and we wear that title proudly. The Rad Rose is getting a revamp but feel free to reach out via IG to get your design in the works. Make sure to tell her I sent you!

#3: Ali Wood Creations – This shop is so unique and has some incredible pieces that totally tug at the heart strings. I started following Ali Wood Creations after our miscarriage and fell in love with the personalized art that she creates. Her creations are very limited and released at specific times so you will want to follow along on instagram to get the latest updates on when her shop is open. My favorites are her sonogram art pieces and the hand written wood signs. What a special personalized gift to give, I am just so blown away by what she creates and find it so beautiful for someone to receive these pieces as gifts.

#4: Cheech Creativa – I absolutely adore custom illustrations and Cheech Creative totally knocked it out of the park on our family portraits with our sweet baby boy. For us personally we don’t have a ton of photos from the three days our sweet Luka was here on earth so having these created was something I hold very near and dear to my heart. Such a great reminder that he is flying high with Jesus while holding our hand though this grief. If you are looking for a custom illustration Christina is your girl and these would make for an awesome gift for someone going through a loss.

#5: My Little Necklace – I ordered this necklace myself with Luka’s name and wear it almost daily. I feel like I have a little piece of him with me wherever I go and I love catching glimpses of it in the mirror when I walk by. One thing about mama’s that lose a child is that we don’t ever want you to forget about our sweet baby so I think having this special necklace with their name makes the perfect keepsake.

There are so many other wonderful gift ideas out there for mamas that are experiencing child loss but these are a few of my favorites. I also think it’s so important to reach out frequently and just let them know that you are thinking of them. Again, we don’t want you to forget our sweet babies so for most of us we LOVE talking about them, don’t be shy to bring them up in conversation. I”m sure I speak for others as well…you don’t need to get us anything, your thoughts and prayers mean more than you could imagine.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. As always you can read our story here. We are praying so hard for all you mamas out there that have experienced a loss and hope that this these gifts bring you a glimpse of joy through the darkness.
Xoxo, Taylor G.
